Today, I will try to write at least half of section 2 (now of 4!), which focuses on the way that karate assemblages suggest a reexamination of the way we conceive of the local/global dynamic.
As I did not finish up the first section of this chapter, that is my first priority this morning. Following that, I'll need to get started on section 2 of 3. If I make it that far, this will be a good writing day.
I've been using the term section rather inconsistently during the camp, so I should say right now that when I've used that term in the past I have sometimes meant a "subsection." For example, my goal for last Thursday and today was to write the opening paragraph and the first subsection. The Section that I will try and complete today is wholly one third of the chapter, so about 7 to 15 pages. I am starting the day with three pages, so we'll see how far we get!
Today, following the revision I felt was warranted on Friday, my intention is to complete the goals which I was trying to complete on Thursday! Thus, by the end of the day, I hope to: 1) Write orienting/introductory/overview paragraph for the chapter on global branding of locally-embedded groups and the transnational articulations of global organizations in karate. Goal 2: Write up a section (likely the first) from this chapter on Global Organization
No where near my goal today, got bogged down in writing the opening vignette for the chapter (so it was still productive, just on a different task)
